Strange Fruit is a collection of stories from early African American history that represent the  real-life superheors’ successes in the face of great adversity.  In Volume I, each of the nine graphic illustrated chapters(comics) tells the story of an “Uncelebrated” African American.  From the lawman Bass Reves, to Henry “Box” Brown’s daring escape from slavery, to the tragedy on Malaga Island in Maine, and the first black cheese master, these life stories offer a refreshing look at remarkable African American.
